Mogadishu, March 17, 2025 – The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) successfully distributed 1,390 food baskets to vulnerable families across several governorates in Somalia this past Friday. The initiative, which is part of the “Etaam” Ramadan Food Basket Project for 1446 AH, aimed to provide essential sustenance to those enduring hardship in the country. The aid benefitted a total of 8,340 individuals, offering them a vital source of nourishment during the holy month of Ramadan.

This significant humanitarian effort reflects Saudi Arabia’s continued commitment to supporting communities in need, particularly in regions facing food insecurity and economic instability. The food baskets, carefully assembled and distributed by KSrelief, were designed to meet the immediate dietary needs of families struggling to access sufficient nutrition. By providing these baskets, KSrelief is helping alleviate the challenges faced by many Somali families, particularly during a time when access to food remains a critical concern.

The "Etaam" project, which is being implemented across multiple countries during Ramadan, underscores the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s long-standing role as a key provider of humanitarian aid to nations affected by conflict, poverty, and other crises. Through KSrelief, Saudi Arabia aims to ensure that the blessings of Ramadan extend beyond borders, fostering goodwill and compassion among Muslim communities worldwide.

The food distribution in Somalia is part of a broader series of efforts undertaken by KSrelief in various parts of the world. These initiatives not only provide immediate relief but also promote long-term sustainability, ensuring that vulnerable populations have access to the basic necessities of life. Saudi Arabia’s support through KSrelief continues to make a meaningful impact, improving the lives of countless individuals and demonstrating the Kingdom’s deep commitment to humanitarian service and global solidarity.
