Islamabad, January 12, 2025 – The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) continues its unwavering commitment to supporting those affected by crises across the globe, with the recent distribution of 1,800 food baskets in Layyah and Kot Addu, two towns in the Punjab region of Pakistan. On Thursday, this vital aid reached 12,500 individuals, providing food assistance to the most vulnerable and underserved communities in flood-affected areas.
The food baskets are part of the 2024 food security support project in Pakistan, a comprehensive initiative designed to address the urgent needs of people who have been disproportionately impacted by the devastating floods that have affected the country. The initiative aims to alleviate hunger, improve nutrition, and support food security for individuals and families who have been left in dire circumstances.
KSrelief’s timely intervention underscores the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s continued dedication to humanitarian assistance, demonstrating the vital role the Center plays in addressing global challenges and alleviating suffering. Through this distribution, KSrelief is fulfilling its mission to provide emergency relief to those in need, regardless of nationality, creed, or race, ensuring that humanitarian support reaches those most affected by natural disasters and humanitarian crises.
This food distribution is part of a broader framework of Saudi Arabia’s humanitarian efforts, coordinated through KSrelief, which works in close partnership with local authorities and organizations in the affected regions. The initiative also highlights the Kingdom’s broader commitment to international solidarity, peace, and relief, which aligns with the Kingdom's Vision 2030 goals of contributing to global humanitarian initiatives and promoting sustainable development.
As KSrelief continues to deliver life-saving aid to communities in crisis, this project reaffirms the Kingdom's determination to stand alongside Pakistan in its time of need, supporting the country’s efforts to recover and rebuild. With such acts of compassion and solidarity, the Kingdom remains a leading force in global humanitarian assistance, responding swiftly to emergencies and helping to restore hope and dignity to those most in need.
