Cairo, August 29, 2023, In advance of the council's ministerial meeting, which is set to take place on Thursday, the 112th meeting of the Economic and Social Council of the Arab League at the level of senior officials began today at the headquarters of the Arab League in Cairo. The team from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was led to the meeting by Naif Al-Enzi, Assistant Deputy Minister for International Cooperation at the Ministry of Finance. The meeting focused on the follow-up on the implementation of the council's resolutions from its previous session and the preparation of the draft agenda for the fifth session of the Arab Economic and Social Development Summit, which is scheduled to take place in Mauritania on November 6 and 7. The meeting also covered the draft economic resolutions that the council's economic committee meetings from yesterday had submitted. The meeting last Sunday also covered draft resolutions on the social aspect that the council's social committee had submitted, particularly the secretary-general of the Arab League's report on the implementation of the council's previous session's resolutions and the social facets of the 33rd Arab summit's economic and social agenda, which will take place in Bahrain in March 2024.
