Suwayda, March 19, 2025 — The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) continued its commitment to alleviating hunger and providing vital assistance to vulnerable communities around the world by distributing food baskets to 115 families in Suwayda, Syria. This distribution, which benefited 363 individuals, is part of the broader Etaam Ramadan Food Basket Project for the year 1446 AH. The initiative, a cornerstone of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing humanitarian and relief efforts, aims to support those in dire need during the holy month of Ramadan.
The distribution in Suwayda represents the fourth phase of the project, which has set an ambitious target of delivering 390,109 food baskets across 27 countries. This phase of the Etaam project is expected to benefit over 2.3 million individuals, with a total cost exceeding SAR 67.064 million. These food baskets provide essential nutrition to families who are struggling to meet their basic needs, especially during the challenging Ramadan period, ensuring they can break their fast with dignity and sustenance.
KSrelief’s efforts through the Etaam Ramadan Food Basket Project are part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's broader humanitarian vision, which focuses on providing aid to those most in need, regardless of race, religion, or nationality. The program has been especially critical in conflict-ridden regions such as Syria, where prolonged instability has exacerbated food insecurity. By focusing on providing food aid during Ramadan, the project aligns with the values of compassion and charity that are central to the holy month.
This latest phase of the Etaam project underscores the Kingdom’s dedication to supporting global humanitarian efforts and its commitment to strengthening international solidarity. The work of KSrelief is not only about providing immediate relief but also about creating a lasting impact through strategic, large-scale initiatives that address both short-term crises and long-term challenges faced by communities in need.
Through its ongoing contributions, KSrelief remains a key player in global humanitarian assistance, reflecting Saudi Arabia’s continuous efforts to make a tangible difference in the lives of those affected by poverty, conflict, and displacement.
