Riyadh, November 14, 2023, More than 180 surfers from 27 countries competed in the six-day International Surfing Association (ISA) World Para Surfing Championship for People with Special Needs in Huntington Beach, California, USA. Muhannad Al-Malki, a member of the Saudi surfing team, registered as the first Saudi to represent his country in the competition. Fernando Aguerre, president of the ISA, said: "We are delighted to welcome the Kingdom into the surfing family for people with special needs and among the countries competing this year. The Kingdom is the only country to make their debuts, and their player has shown a good level considering that he is competing for the first time."
