Riyadh, September 08, 2023, An attempt to smuggle 183,900 Captagon pills was prevented by the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority (ZATCA) at the Al-Batha port after the drugs were discovered concealed in one of the trucks entering the Kingdom through the port. The authority claimed that a sizable number of Captagon pills were discovered concealed under the trunk of one of the vehicles when inspecting it as it entered the Al-Batha port. ZATCA further stated that the recipient of the goods inside the Kingdom was detained following coordination with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control.
The authority emphasized that in order to safeguard society from such criminal activity, it will keep tightening customs controls over the Kingdom's imports and exports at all of its customs outlets.
The authority also urges all citizens to report instances of smuggling and violations of the unified customs system by calling the designated number for security reports at 1910, sending an email to [email protected], or using the international phone number 00966114208417. This will help protect society and the country's economy. It was said that such reports would be handled with strict confidentiality and that the source of the information would get compensation if the information was accurate.
