Dhaka, March 19, 2025 — In a significant move to support vulnerable communities, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) successfully distributed food baskets to 200 families in the Jhenaidah District of Bangladesh on Sunday. This humanitarian gesture, which directly benefited 1,000 individuals, is part of the ongoing Etaam Ramadan Food Basket Distribution Project in Bangladesh, initiated for the Islamic year 1446 AH.

The distribution of the food baskets is part of KSrelief’s broader strategy to provide aid during the holy month of Ramadan, ensuring that vulnerable populations across the globe have access to nutritious food during this time of fasting. The project reflects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s longstanding commitment to humanitarian efforts and showcases the Kingdom’s continued leadership in offering assistance to communities in need worldwide.

This latest initiative, carried out in collaboration with local authorities and partners, was well-received by the recipients in Jhenaidah. The food baskets distributed contained essential items to meet the immediate nutritional needs of the families, helping them observe the fasts with dignity and ensuring that they do not face food insecurity during Ramadan.

KSrelief’s Etaam initiative is one of the many relief projects undertaken by the center, aimed at alleviating hunger and supporting communities affected by crisis situations. Over the years, the center has expanded its reach, providing aid to various countries in need, including Bangladesh, where poverty and natural disasters have often left many families vulnerable.

Through projects like Etaam, KSrelief not only addresses short-term hunger but also contributes to the long-term resilience of communities by supporting self-sufficiency and social well-being. The Kingdom’s humanitarian efforts, implemented via KSrelief, aim to ensure that those in need are supported not just in times of crisis, but throughout the year.

The humanitarian center's ongoing work is a testament to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s dedication to its humanitarian mandate, with a particular focus on providing relief to the most disadvantaged communities around the world, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan.
