3,007 food baskets are distributed in Pakistan by KSrelief.

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) distributed 3,007 food baskets in flood-affected districts of Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces in Pakistan, benefiting 20,444 individuals.

Islamabad, January 16, 2025 – In a continued effort to address food insecurity caused by recent natural disasters, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) launched an extensive food aid distribution initiative in Pakistan. On Monday, a total of 3,007 food baskets were distributed across four districts in Pakistan: Matiari and Thatta in Sindh province, as well as Tank and Torghar in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. This distribution provided vital support to 20,444 individuals, primarily from the most vulnerable groups in areas severely affected by recent flooding.

The initiative is part of this year’s Food Security Support Project in Pakistan, which aims to provide crucial assistance to those suffering from the aftermath of floods and other humanitarian challenges. Each of the food baskets weighs 95 kilograms and is packed with essential food items that can sustain a family for an entire month. The project’s target is to distribute a total of 147,500 food baskets, reaching an estimated 1,032,500 individuals across various provinces in Pakistan, including Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Punjab, and Kashmir.

This initiative is part of a broader humanitarian response led by KSrelief, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's primary humanitarian arm, which has been actively involved in providing aid to countries affected by crises. The food security project is designed to help alleviate the hardships faced by families in Pakistan’s flood-affected regions, ensuring that those in need receive life-sustaining support during a time of severe crisis.

By targeting the most vulnerable populations, KSrelief is not only addressing immediate needs but also contributing to long-term food security and stability in Pakistan. This ongoing effort underscores Saudi Arabia’s commitment to humanitarian relief, aligning with the Kingdom’s broader vision of fostering regional stability and providing aid to those in dire need around the world.
