Dhaka, March 17, 2025 – The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) continued its vital humanitarian work with the distribution of 300 food baskets in Barguna District, Bangladesh, on Thursday. This initiative, part of the larger "Etaam" Ramadan Food Basket Distribution Project for 1446 AH, benefitted 1,500 individuals, providing them with essential nourishment during the holy month of Ramadan.
The distribution in Bangladesh is part of the fourth phase of the "Etaam" project, which aims to distribute a total of 390,109 food baskets across 27 countries during Ramadan, reaching a total of 2,304,104 individuals. The initiative is expected to cost over SAR 67 million, reflecting Saudi Arabia's ongoing commitment to supporting food security in countries facing humanitarian challenges.
KSrelief’s food baskets contain essential food items, providing immediate relief to vulnerable communities who often struggle with food insecurity, especially during the fasting month of Ramadan. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s aid through KSrelief is a part of its broader strategy to support countries in need, alleviating hunger, and improving living conditions in regions affected by poverty, displacement, and natural disasters.
In Bangladesh, where food insecurity remains a critical issue for many families, this distribution is a lifeline for those who rely on external assistance to meet their basic needs. The effort highlights Saudi Arabia's dedication to humanitarian aid and its long-standing role in global relief efforts through various projects like the "Etaam" initiative.
The "Etaam" project, which began as an annual Ramadan program, not only supports immediate relief but also contributes to long-term food security by ensuring access to food during a period of heightened need. Through KSrelief, Saudi Arabia continues to demonstrate its humanitarian leadership, enhancing the well-being of countless individuals across the world while promoting compassion and solidarity in the spirit of Ramadan.
