Taiz, Yemen, September 16, 2023, 354 Yemeni individuals who lost limbs received a variety of medical services in August from the Taiz Prosthetics and Rehabilitation Center with the help of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief). 1,519 services were offered in August. Men made up 74% of the beneficiaries, while women made up 26%, displaced people made up 15% of the overall beneficiaries, and locals made up 85%. For 115 patients, artificial limbs and prostheses were measured, created, fitted, delivered, and maintained. 239 individuals benefited from rehabilitation and physical therapy services, including specialized consultations.
These services are an extension of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's humanitarian and relief initiatives, carried out through its humanitarian arm, KSrelief, to improve the health sector's capacities and lessen the suffering of the afflicted people of Yemen.
