Riyadh, August 27, 2023, Following the directives of the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance and Supervisor General of the Award, Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh, the 43rd King Abdulaziz International Award for the Memorization, Recitation, and Interpretation of the Holy Quran is currently being held at the Grand Holy Mosque. The competition for this award is being broadcast live, both in audio and video. The event will be streamed live on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/live/f72b8P81J_Q?si=J-6GXf7Hct6nK2En. through the ministry's channel. The final qualifiers will also be aired via a variety of venues, different audiovisual media, and regional print and electronic newspapers so that viewers around the world can view them on social media. The audience will be notified of all the award information up until the winners' names are given at the closing ceremony, which will take place on Wednesday, Safar 21, 1445 Hijri. This will help bring the event closer to the audience. 117 nations are represented by the 166 competitors. The winners of the five award categories will share a total prize pool of SAR4 million. The six-day tournament for the final qualifiers got under way on Friday. A panel of foreign arbitrators makes up the jury.
