Damascus, March 09, 2025 — The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has recently completed the distribution of 44 food baskets in Sahnaya, a town in Rif Dimashq Governorate, Syria, as part of its ongoing humanitarian efforts. This distribution is a key component of the ‘Etaam’ Ramadan Food Basket Distribution Project for the year 1446 AH, which is designed to support vulnerable communities during the holy month of Ramadan.
The fourth phase of the ‘Etaam’ project is an ambitious initiative that aims to distribute a total of 390,109 food baskets across 27 countries, benefiting an estimated 2,304,104 individuals. The total value of this extensive effort exceeds SAR 67.64 million, making it one of the largest humanitarian undertakings during Ramadan. The food baskets, which contain essential food items, are intended to provide families in need with the necessary sustenance to observe the fasting month, while also alleviating the hardships many are facing due to ongoing conflicts, economic instability, and natural disasters.
KSrelief, a leading humanitarian organization in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has long been at the forefront of providing aid to those affected by crises around the world. This distribution initiative, like many others, underscores the Kingdom's commitment to offering relief to the most vulnerable, demonstrating solidarity with communities in Syria and other countries that continue to suffer from the effects of conflict and displacement. By prioritizing access to food and basic necessities, KSrelief’s ‘Etaam’ project aims to ease the burden on families, allowing them to focus on their spiritual observance of Ramadan without the worry of their next meal.
This initiative is part of the broader relief efforts by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which has consistently supported humanitarian work both domestically and internationally. Through KSrelief, the Kingdom continues to play a critical role in alleviating suffering and improving the lives of millions, reflecting its deep commitment to the principles of charity, generosity, and global solidarity.
The ‘Etaam’ project is a testament to the power of coordinated humanitarian efforts and the Kingdom’s ability to make a meaningful difference in the lives of people affected by crises, regardless of geographic or cultural boundaries. As the project continues to roll out across various regions, it will undoubtedly provide much-needed relief to countless individuals and families who are navigating the challenges of living in difficult circumstances. Through initiatives like ‘Etaam,’ KSrelief reinforces the importance of humanitarian assistance during times of need, especially during the sacred month of Ramadan when acts of charity and support take on even greater significance.
