44th King Abdulaziz International Quran Competition starts in Makkah, August

Riyadh, April 17, 2024, Under the auspices of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, the 44th edition of the King Abdulaziz International Competition for Memorization, Recitation, and Interpretation of the Holy Quran is set to commence in Makkah this August.

This prestigious competition is organized by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance, with a total prize value of SAR4 million awaiting the winners.

In response to this significant event, Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh expressed gratitude to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for their unwavering support towards the Holy Quran and the Muslim community.

The competition comprises five distinct categories: memorization of the entire Holy Quran with precise recitation and intonation according to the seven canonical methods of recitation; memorization of the entire Quran along with the interpretation of its vocabulary, coupled with proper recitation and intonation; memorization of 15 Juz' (sections) of the Quran, with accurate recitation and intonation; and memorization of five Juz' with proper recitation and intonation. Each category showcases the participants' dedication to mastering the Quranic sciences and their commitment to preserving the sacred text's authenticity and beauty.
