49 events at Riyadh International Disputes Week from March 3-7, 2024

Riyadh, September 18, 2023, There will be 49 events covering commercial and investment arbitration, mediation and reconciliation, litigation, and the rule of law at the first Riyadh International Disputes Week (RIDW24), which will take place from March 3–7, 2024. Participants, event hosts, and sponsors are encouraged by the organizing committee to register for RIDW24 activities via www.RIDW.org. The Saudi Center for Commercial Arbitration is hosting its third annual international conference, RIDW24, on March 6, 2024, and registration is already open.

Up until December 15, 2023, or until the maximum number of applications is received, the organizing committee will accept applications from parties interested in hosting activities at RIDW.

To explore potential in the industry field, exchange knowledge and skills, and forge relationships and economic cooperation within the MENA region and beyond, RIDW24 will be an international event and a major forum for actors interested in dispute resolution.

Numerous prestigious law firms and organizations from around the world have signed on as sponsors for RIDW24, including Diamond Sponsor AlDhabaan & Partners in association with Eversheds Sutherland, Gold Sponsors Zamakhchary (Z&Co) Law Firm, Matouk Bassiouny Law Firm, and Majed Al-Rasheed Law Firm, and Silver Sponsor Abdulaziz Alajlan & Partners in association with Baker & McKenzie Limited, ALAIDAR.

The International Center for Settlement of Investment Disputes at the World Bank (ICSID), the International Federation of Commercial Arbitration Institutions (IFCAI), the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) in the United Kingdom, the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) in the United Kingdom, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the United Nations have all expressed their support for RIDW thus far.

In a similar vein, SCCA24, the third annual international conference hosted by the Saudi Center for Commercial Arbitration, has opened early registration. The deadline for this swath of registration is November 30th, 2023.

The theme of SCCA24, "Dispute Resolution in a Changing World: New Trends, New Opportunities," will be the focus of the major, full-day event at RIDW 2024, scheduled for March 6, 2024.

Through five expert panel discussions, two keynote addresses by international dignitaries with ties to the industry, and seven subtopics discussed among the more than 1,200 targeted participants, SCCA24 will attempt to explore the current and future prospects of dispute resolution in Saudi Arabia and the wider region.

The four key statutes, the most recent of which is the Kingdom's Civil Transactions Law, and the core conference of RIDW24 represent the zenith of Saudi Arabia's legislative and legal environment development. Along with this new legislation comes a significant economic push in the form of mega and giga projects, the creation of economic cities and economic zones, a rise in local and foreign direct investment, and the establishment of regional headquarters for international corporations, all of which will make the region a more desirable and significant setting for commercial dispute resolution.
