A batch of Indonesian Pilgrims Leaves for Saudi Arabia under Makkah Route Initiative

Jakarta, May 12, 2024, A batch of Indonesian pilgrims benefiting from the Makkah Route Initiative departed Adi Soemarmo International Airport, in central Java, to arrive at Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah.


 The Ministry of Interior launched the Makkah Route Initiative in 2017, in cooperation with the ministries of foreign affairs, health, Hajj and Umrah, and media, the General Authority of Civil Aviation, the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, the Saudi Data and AI Authority, and the ‏Pilgrim Experience Program, to enhance the Hajj journey.


 So far, 617,756 pilgrims benefitted from the initiative.
