Riyadh, December 16, 2024 – King Saud University (KSU) has taken a significant step in expanding its academic and international cooperation by signing a new framework agreement with IMC Krems University of Applied Sciences in the Republic of Austria. This agreement is designed to activate the provisions of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) that was signed earlier in April 2024. The collaboration is set to focus on the development and delivery of specialized courses within the Intermediate Diploma program in Hotel Management and the Bachelor’s degree program in Tourism and Leisure Management.

This new partnership represents a continuation of the strong relationship between the two institutions, building on the progress made through their earlier cooperative programs and initiatives as outlined in the MoU. The courses will combine KSU’s academic expertise with IMC Krems’ international reputation for excellence in applied sciences, offering students a unique opportunity to gain specialized knowledge in the hospitality and tourism sectors, two of the most dynamic industries globally.

The signing of this agreement is in line with King Saud University’s broader vision to enhance its international presence and academic offerings. The university has been steadily activating agreements with leading academic institutions worldwide to further its goal of becoming a globally recognized center of learning. By fostering partnerships like this one, KSU aims to expand its academic programs, enrich the student experience, and provide cutting-edge educational opportunities that align with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which seeks to diversify the economy and strengthen key industries, including tourism and hospitality.

Dr. Mohammed Y. Mardi, President of KSU, emphasized that this collaboration will help the university maximize its benefits at all levels, from academic exchanges to the creation of new pathways for students pursuing careers in the thriving tourism and leisure sectors. The university’s strong commitment to international collaboration and academic innovation positions it as a key player in advancing education and research, both locally and globally.

Through this agreement with IMC Krems University, King Saud University reinforces its commitment to fostering a globally competitive educational environment, ensuring that its graduates are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and expertise necessary to excel in today’s interconnected and fast-evolving job market. This collaboration marks another milestone in KSU’s continued growth as a leading academic institution in the Middle East and beyond.
