Riyadh, January 03, 2025 – The high-level Syrian delegation, which included key officials from Syria’s newly established Transitional Government, departed Riyadh today after completing a significant diplomatic visit. The delegation, led by Asaad Al-Shaybani, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, was accompanied by Major General Engineer Marhaf Abu Qasra, the Minister of Defense, and General Intelligence Chief Anas Khattab.
The visit was an important moment in the growing diplomatic engagement between Saudi Arabia and Syria, underscoring the Kingdom's commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and fostering regional stability. During their stay in Riyadh, the delegation held fruitful discussions with Saudi officials, exploring opportunities for collaboration and support in various sectors, including security, political transition, and economic development.
Upon departure, the delegation was formally seen off at King Khalid International Airport by the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Eng. Waleed bin Abdulkarim El-Khereiji, along with several senior Saudi officials. This gesture reflects the importance of the visit and the ongoing efforts to build deeper ties between the two nations.
