Riyadh, February 26, 2025 – The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) recently hosted the International Seminar on Privatization of Airport Security and One Stop Security, a highly anticipated event that took place from February 24 to 26 in Riyadh. The seminar, organized in collaboration with the Arab Civil Aviation Organization (ACAO), the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC), and the African Civil Aviation Commission (AFCAC), attracted over 120 aviation security experts and specialists from 55 Arab, European, and African nations, alongside representatives from aviation manufacturers and regional organizations.

This international gathering provided a vital platform for dialogue and knowledge sharing on the pressing issue of privatizing airport security services and the implementation of the "one-stop security" concept in civil aviation. The seminar sought to explore innovative solutions aimed at improving the efficiency of security operations, reducing costs, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and security in the rapidly evolving aviation sector.

On the first day, discussions focused on the current, emerging, and future threats to civil aviation security, offering valuable insights into the key factors driving the privatization of security services. The experts delved into the challenges that arise after the privatization process, particularly regarding the integration of various security measures while ensuring equivalence in security protocols across different jurisdictions. One of the central topics was the potential for implementing the "one-stop security" concept, which would streamline and enhance security procedures across multiple airports, offering significant efficiency gains for both travelers and airlines.

A key aspect of the seminar was its emphasis on capacity building, regional cooperation, and the importance of establishing robust partnerships between international and regional aviation bodies. The event highlighted the need to enhance collaboration in addressing aviation security challenges, and recognized the critical role of training and development to support the sustainable growth of civil aviation security in the Arab, European, and African regions.

Through its in-depth discussions and expert-led presentations, the seminar provided a forward-thinking platform to explore how privatization and innovative security concepts can reshape the future of airport security, ensuring that the aviation industry continues to meet the ever-increasing demands of safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

As the seminar draws to a close, it is evident that such international cooperation and knowledge exchange will play an essential role in enhancing the global aviation security framework, ensuring that future challenges are met with strategic, collaborative, and efficient solutions.
