Riyadh, October 26, 2023, Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Cabinet Member, and Envoy for Climate Affairs, convened a meeting with Luigi Di Maio, the European Union (EU) Special Representative for the Gulf Region. The meeting took place at the Ministry's headquarters in Riyadh.
The discussions during the meeting revolved around the ongoing cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the EU, with a focus on exploring opportunities to further enhance collaboration across various domains. Additionally, the regional context was a key point of conversation, particularly the escalating military situation in Gaza. Both parties emphasized the urgent need for de-escalation, the cessation of military operations, and the establishment of humanitarian and medical aid routes.
The meeting was also attended by Haifa Al-Jedea, Saudi Arabia's Ambassador to the EU and the European Atomic Energy Community.
