Kabul, January 30, 2025 — The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) delivered a significant humanitarian gesture to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, presenting a 100-ton shipment of dates as a gift from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The official handover ceremony took place yesterday, with Saudi Ambassador to Afghanistan, Faisal bin Talaq Al-Baqmi, representing KSrelief during the delivery. The dates were received by Shahabuddin Delawar, the acting president of the Afghan Red Crescent Society (ARCS), in a ceremony that also saw the attendance of ARCS deputy president Hafiz Azizur Rahman, members of the KSrelief team, and various media representatives.

The shipment of dates, which is part of Saudi Arabia's ongoing humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan, is intended to support the people of Afghanistan by providing them with vital food supplies. This gesture is in line with Saudi Arabia's long-standing commitment to providing aid and assistance to nations in need, as part of its global humanitarian efforts.

KSrelief's initiatives, which span numerous sectors such as healthcare, education, and emergency relief, underscore the Kingdom's dedication to promoting welfare and solidarity with countries across the globe. The delivery of this substantial gift reinforces the strong ties of friendship between Saudi Arabia and Afghanistan, showcasing the Kingdom’s continued support to the Afghan people through various charitable and development programs.

This act of generosity reflects Saudi Arabia's humanitarian strategy and its role as a key player in global efforts to address urgent needs in regions affected by instability and hardship. KSrelief’s contributions, both regionally and internationally, are central to the Kingdom’s vision of fostering peace, prosperity, and support for communities in crisis.
