Riyadh, September 27, 2023, Saudi Arabia's Attorney General, Sheikh Saud bin Abdullah Al-Mujib, led the country's delegation at the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP) Conference, held in London from September 24 to 27. The conference, themed "The Changing Nature of Crime in the 21st Century: Challenges and Responses," witnessed the participation of delegations from public prosecutors across the globe, along with representatives from international organizations and associations.
The conference's agenda encompassed a range of critical subjects, including strategies for combatting transnational crime, counter-terrorism efforts, addressing human trafficking crimes, streamlining mutual legal assistance procedures, and facilitating information exchange among legal authorities.
On the sidelines of this global gathering, Attorney General Al-Mujib engaged in important meetings, notably with British Attorney General Victoria Prentis and Max Hill, the Director of Public Prosecutions for England and Wales. These discussions revolved around matters of shared interest, with a particular focus on enhancing judicial cooperation. Al-Mujib also convened several bilateral discussions aimed at fostering collaborative efforts to strengthen judicial practices. Moreover, he seized the opportunity to showcase Saudi Arabia's expertise in effectively governing criminal justice procedures through the public prosecution and explored avenues for enhancing digitization in these critical processes.
