Riyadh, November 10, 2024 — The Agricultural Development Fund (ADF) successfully concluded its participation in the 7th China International Import Expo, held in Shanghai from November 5 to 10, 2024. This prestigious event, part of China’s broader efforts to enhance global trade cooperation, saw more than 1,600 exhibitors and attracted approximately 150,000 visitors from over 100 countries. The ADF’s involvement was part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s pavilion, organized by the National Livestock and Fisheries Development Program, which also included a range of other Saudi government agencies and agricultural companies specializing in dairy, poultry, fish, shrimp, and date products.

The ADF’s presence at the expo was aimed at promoting Saudi Arabia’s agricultural investment opportunities, facilitating meaningful engagements with key Chinese investors and government bodies, and fostering cooperation between the two nations in the agriculture and food sectors. By participating in this high-profile global event, the Fund sought to spotlight Saudi Arabia’s growing agricultural potential and the advantages it offers foreign investors.

One of the key focal points of the ADF’s participation was the promotion of Saudi Arabia’s diverse financing options for international investors. The Fund highlighted the Saudi Agricultural Investment Program abroad, a vital initiative that plays a crucial role in securing the Kingdom’s food security objectives. The program supports the country’s efforts to ensure a steady supply of essential commodities, enhances sufficiency in staple crops, and helps establish strategic global partnerships. It also encourages private sector investment in agriculture, ensuring the Kingdom’s position as a strong player in global agricultural development.

In addition to showcasing Saudi agricultural assets and opportunities, the ADF’s participation underscored the ongoing collaboration between Saudi Arabia and China, two nations working towards mutual growth and stability in the agricultural sector. By forging partnerships and advancing investments, the event reinforced the commitment of both countries to tackling food security challenges and boosting agricultural productivity for a sustainable future. The China International Import Expo thus served as a vital platform for strengthening the Kingdom's agricultural ambitions on the global stage, positioning Saudi Arabia as a key partner in international agricultural cooperation and investment.
