AI robots assist worshippers and visitors at Makkah's Grand Mosque

Makkah, February 18, 2024, The Presidency of Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque has introduced cutting-edge AI-powered robots to aid worshippers and visitors at the revered Grand Mosque in Makkah.

These innovative robots serve as knowledgeable assistants, offering invaluable guidance on various aspects such as the intricacies of performing Hajj and Umrah rituals, Islamic jurisprudence and fatwas, navigating through the mosque's expansive premises, and delivering translations in an impressive array of languages.

Each robot boasts a sophisticated array of features, including a user-friendly touchscreen display, a high-resolution camera, and a robust speaker system. Leveraging Wi-Fi connectivity, these robots have access to real-time information and are capable of communicating in 11 languages, namely Arabic, English, French, Russian, Persian, Turkish, Malay, Urdu, Chinese, Bengali, and Hausa.
