Washington, October 31, 2024 – Dr. Hussam bin Abdulmohsen Al-Anqari, President of the General Court of Audit, engaged in a series of high-level meetings on the sidelines of the 19th Annual Symposium of the General Court of Audit, hosted this year by Riyadh. The symposium, a prominent gathering for audit professionals and institutions worldwide, brought together leaders and representatives to discuss the advancement of global auditing standards and cooperative initiatives.
During these meetings, Dr. Al-Anqari held discussions with Gene Dodaro, United States Comptroller General and head of the Government Accountability Office (GAO), Dr. Isma Yatun, Chair of the Republic of Indonesia Audit Board (BPK), and Dr. Radi Al-Hamadain, President of the Audit Bureau of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Each of these leaders represents a significant authority in national and international audit standards, underscoring the event's focus on collaborative growth and expertise-sharing among countries.
The discussions focused on exploring avenues for cooperation in accounting, auditing, and the broader professional field. Emphasis was placed on the exchange of best practices and expertise, drawing from the strengths and insights of each nation’s audit institutions. This initiative aims to enhance the capabilities of audit institutions across participating countries and elevate the standards and practices that govern public financial accountability worldwide.
