Today, in Cairo, Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh, Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance, had the honor of meeting Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the esteemed Sheikh of Al-Azhar. This meeting took place on the sidelines of the 35th International Conference of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, which is being held in Cairo. The discussion between the two leaders focused on several key topics of mutual interest, notably the collaboration between the Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Al-Azhar through the Joint Committee, and efforts to share experiences and promote moderation in Islamic discourse.
Sheikh Al-Tayeb extended his commendation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, acknowledging its remarkable contributions to serving Muslims around the world. He specifically noted the Kingdom's exceptional participation in the ongoing Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs conference, which is being presided over by the Saudi Minister of Islamic Affairs. In his remarks, Sheikh Al-Tayeb also praised the significant role of Saudi women in national development and nation-building, under the visionary leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
In response, Sheikh Dr. Al Al-Sheikh emphasized the vital role that Al-Azhar plays on the global stage in disseminating knowledge, promoting culture, and combating extremism.
