Al-Baha, January 31, 2025 – The Tihama area of the Al-Baha region has recently been graced with moderate to heavy rainfall, transforming the landscape into a stunning display of nature’s beauty. The rainfall has led to waterfalls cascading down from the surrounding mountains, creating a breathtaking natural spectacle that draws both locals and visitors alike. Meanwhile, the Sarat area has experienced a significant drop in temperatures, prompting many in the region to seek refuge from the cold by heading to the more temperate climate of Tihama’s valleys and plains.

As the region grapples with the chill of winter, the Governorates of Al-Makhwah, Qilwah, Al-Hujrah, and Ghamid Al-Zinad have seen a notable increase in the number of visitors. Both residents and tourists are flocking to these areas in search of a warmer, more moderate climate, making it a popular destination during the winter months. The Al-Baha municipality has proactively prepared the region’s key tourist attractions to accommodate this influx, ensuring that public parks, squares, and beaches are well-maintained and accessible to guests.

In addition to the natural beauty of the region, Al-Baha has taken steps to enhance its appeal by organizing festivals and events that celebrate the local culture and provide entertainment for visitors from both within the Kingdom and abroad. These cultural gatherings add an extra layer of charm to the area, offering a unique opportunity to experience traditional music, food, and crafts that reflect the rich heritage of the region.

The region’s markets have also come to life, offering a diverse array of local goods that highlight the flavors and craftsmanship of Al-Baha. Aromatic plants, pure honey, intricately carved wooden crafts, and traditional cuisines fill the bustling markets, alongside fresh produce and grains, creating a vibrant atmosphere that draws visitors eager to explore the region’s local specialties. These markets are a perfect blend of culture, nature, and commerce, offering a sensory-rich experience for anyone visiting during the winter season.

As winter sets in, Al-Baha has successfully positioned itself as a prime tourist destination, offering not only a respite from the cold but also a chance to explore the region's natural wonders, warm climate, and rich cultural heritage. With its mix of stunning landscapes, well-prepared tourist sites, and vibrant local markets, Al-Baha is emerging as one of the Kingdom’s most sought-after winter destinations, embodying the essence of Saudi Arabia's growing tourism sector.
