Al-Hilal's Milinković-Savić suffers knee injury, faces 3-4 weeks recovery

RIYADH — Al-Hilal Club has confirmed that Serbian midfielder Sergej Milinković-Savić sustained a knee injury, necessitating a treatment period of 3 to 4 weeks.

This injury compounds the club's existing challenges, as they grapple with a host of players on the injured list, including Neymar, Salman Al-Faraj, Musab Al-Juwayr, and the suspended Robin Neves and Ali Al-Bulayhi.

Milinković-Savić incurred the injury during Al-Hilal's recent local league match against Al-Fateh. Subsequently, the midfielder underwent radiological examinations on Sunday to assess the injury's nature, which will sideline him for the next four weeks.

As a consequence, Milinković-Savić will be unavailable for the upcoming showdown against Mumbai City in the fourth round of the AFC Champions League. Additionally, he won't be able to represent the Serbian national team during the forthcoming international break.

This injury marks Milinković-Savić's absence from the previous four matches for Al-Hilal, which included encounters against Navbahor, Nassaji, Abha, and Al-Ettifaq. He will also miss upcoming league matches against Al-Taawoun on the 10th and Al-Hazem on the 25th, along with the AFC Champions League match against Navbahor from Uzbekistan later this month.

Milinković-Savić is anticipated to make his comeback in the Riyadh Derby against Al-Nassr in the league on December 1.
