RIYADH — Al Hilal continued their King's Cup defense with a decisive 3-0 victory over Al-Hazm in the Round of 16. The match, held at King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh, featured goals from Portuguese player Robin Neves and Serbian Aleksandar Mitrović, who scored twice.
Jorge Jesus, Al Hilal's coach, fielded a lineup that excluded key players, including the Serbian duo Savic and Mitrović, Salem Al-Dawsari, and Senegalese Khaledou Koulibaly, giving them some rest.
Meanwhile, Salem Al-Dawsari was in Doha, competing for the title of the best player in Asia during an awards ceremony scheduled for Tuesday evening.
Although the goals were delayed until the second half, Al Hilal easily overcame Al-Hazem. The first goal came from Robin Neves via a penalty, followed by Mitrović's second goal in the 67th minute, and his third, and the team's third, through another penalty in the 83rd minute.
