Al-Khatib lauds approval of regulatory arrangements for Saudi Red Sea Authority

Riyadh, November 1, 2023, Ahmad Al-Khatib, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Red Sea Authority, has expressed his heartfelt appreciation to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, following the Cabinet's approval of the Regulatory Arrangements for the authority. These arrangements are designed to oversee and regulate recreational marine activities along the Red Sea coast of Saudi Arabia, with the goal of ensuring sustainable utilization and development.


Al-Khatib emphasized that this approval stands as a testament to the unwavering support provided by the wise leadership to the coastal tourism sector of the Red Sea. It aligns with the grand vision of fostering renewable tourism and sustainable development while positioning the Red Sea as a global tourist destination of note.


The Chairman underlined that the authority's expanding role, particularly within the coastal tourism domain, is a direct result of the leadership's commitment to organizing and continually enhancing this sector. Their aim is to achieve sustainable development for the Red Sea and safeguard its natural environment.


He went on to explain that the authority will play a pivotal role in initiating various coastal tourism endeavors in the Red Sea, thereby contributing to the Kingdom's developmental goals through tourism while also preserving the area's environmental assets and the natural wealth of the Red Sea.
