Al Rabeeah, KSrelief Supervisor, meets UN Coordinator Nkweta-Salami in Sudan

Paris, April 17, 2024, Abdullah Al Rabeeah, Supervisor General of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), held a meeting yesterday with Clementine Nkweta-Salami, the United Nations Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Sudan. This meeting took place on the sidelines of the International Humanitarian Conference for Sudan and neighboring countries, co-organized by the European Union and France.

During their discussion, the two officials delved into matters of mutual interest concerning the humanitarian situation in Sudan and the key topics highlighted at the conference.

Dr. Al Rabeeah emphasized Saudi Arabia's relief and humanitarian efforts in Sudan through KSrelief. He mentioned that 13 relief planes and four relief ships were dispatched to Sudan, alongside the implementation of 43 humanitarian projects valued at over $60 million in Sudan and neighboring nations, in collaboration with international and local organizations. Additionally, Saudi Arabia sent 20 volunteer medical teams to Sudan as part of its humanitarian assistance initiatives.

Nkweta-Salami praised Saudi Arabia's dedication to supporting the Sudanese people and expressed a desire for further cooperation to bolster humanitarian endeavors in Sudan. The meeting showcased the ongoing commitment of both parties to address humanitarian challenges and contribute positively to the well-being of affected populations in Sudan and neighboring regions.
