Al-Raed triumphs 3-1 over Al-Nassr in thrilling Saudi Professional League match

RIYADH — In a thrilling encounter during the 23rd round of the Saudi Professional League, Al-Raed secured a notable victory over hosts Al-Nassr with a decisive score of 3-1. The match dealt a significant blow to Al-Nassr's title aspirations, amplifying their recent challenges in performance.

Al-Raed capitalized on Al-Nassr's struggles, earning three crucial points in their bid to avoid relegation. The win in Riyadh provided a substantial boost to Al-Raed's efforts to maintain their position in the top flight.

The game saw Al-Raed taking an early lead, capitalizing on defensive lapses from Al-Nassr. Julio Tavares intercepted a misplaced pass from Al-Nassr's Mohammed Al-Fatil, setting up Karim El Berkaoui to score the opening goal in the 18th minute.

Al-Nassr responded promptly, with Ayman Yahya leveling the score in the 24th minute after an unsuccessful attempt by Ronaldo. However, Al-Raed regained the lead at the start of the second half, with Mohamed Fouzair finding the back of the net.

Despite Al-Nassr's increased offensive efforts, Al-Raed's strategy of relying on counter-attacks, led by Amir Sayoud, Mohamed Fouzair, and Karim El Berkaoui, proved effective. Al-Nassr struggled to break through the well-organized defense of their opponents.

Amir Sayoud delivered the final blow in the 87th minute, securing a third goal for Al-Raed and dimming Al-Nassr's chances of catching up in the league race. This victory takes Al-Raed to 23 points, while Al-Nassr remains at 53 points, nine behind the league leaders Al-Hilal, who have a game in hand that could potentially extend their lead.
