Davos, Jan 19, 2024, During the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Saudi Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Eng. Abdullah bin Amer Al-Swaha, held discussions with Japanese Minister of Digital Transformation, Taro Kano, to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two nations. The ministers explored joint initiatives and ways to enhance cooperation in various areas, including supporting the growth of the digital economy, promoting innovation, fostering digital entrepreneurship, and encouraging technical investments. Additionally, they considered the possibility of establishing joint programs for exchanging experiences, supporting government digital transformation, and leveraging emerging technologies to bolster the digital economy.
In a separate meeting, Eng. Al-Swaha also met with Indian Minister for Railways, Communications, and Electronics & Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw. During this session, they reviewed the progress of digital and innovative initiatives within the Saudi-Indian Strategic Partnership Council. The initiatives aim to support the growth of the digital economy and stimulate innovation and entrepreneurship between the two countries.
