Al-Swaha underscored the importance of Google Cloud's investment in the new region, emphasizing its role in advancing Saudi Arabia's goals to become a regional hub for cutting-edge computing technologies. He highlighted the investment's crucial role in supporting digital initiatives, accelerating innovation in artificial intelligence, and diversifying business models in both the public and private sectors.
Dammam's new cloud region is integrated into Google Cloud's global network, comprising 39 cloud regions and serving over 200 countries. The region offers key controls to ensure top-notch safety standards, local data storage options, and compliance with specific data storage requirements for institutions in the area.
