Makkah, March 04, 2024, Al-Taneem Mosque, situated 7 kilometers northwest of Makkah, holds profound historical significance for Muslims, particularly those performing Umrah. Established in 854, the mosque is renowned as the site where Aisha, the wife of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), entered into the state of Ihram during the Farewell Pilgrimage in 632. Due to its proximity to the Grand Mosque, Al-Taneem Mosque is commonly referred to as the "Miqat Mosque" or the "Umrah Mosque."
Throughout the year, the mosque welcomes a continuous stream of pilgrims, with numbers notably increasing during the Hajj and Umrah seasons. As a crucial element of Makkah's rich Islamic heritage, Al-Taneem Mosque holds special significance for those undertaking the sacred pilgrimage of Hajj and Umrah.
Blending historical authenticity with modernity, Al-Taneem Mosque features high doors and windows, reflecting contemporary Islamic architectural styles. Spanning an impressive 6,000 square meters, the mosque's entire complex covers a vast area of 84,000 square meters, allowing it to accommodate up to 15,000 worshippers simultaneously. The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance manage and maintain the mosque, ensuring its cleanliness, providing luxurious carpets, and overseeing high-quality improvement and development projects. These efforts aim to create a serene and comforting environment for pilgrims as they engage in their sacred rituals.
