Dhahran, September 25, 2024, Al-Turath Foundation yesterday launched the book "King Salman", coinciding with the 94th National Day celebration.
The launch ceremony was attended by Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, special advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, founder and chairman of Al-Turath Foundation, a non-profit organization. Also attending the event at King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra) in Dhahran were President and CEO of Saudi Aramco Eng. Amin H. Nasser and a large number of guests.
In his speech on this occasion, Prince Sultan said that Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud was the first to review the book, its photographs, and the information included in this important publication. He added that the book was launched on National Day to pay a well-deserved tribute to King Salman who has dedicated his life to serving the nation. King Salman lives with and among the people, interacting with all segments of society, as citizens would visit his office daily at Al-Hukm Palace in Riyadh.
Prince Sultan stressed that since the beginning of King Salman's reign, he has tirelessly worked to ensure the security, stability, and development of the nation. He worked with diligence, determination, and courage to overcome any obstacles that stood in his or the nation's path and march toward progress.
The prince said that the book highlights aspects of King Salman’s social and humanitarian life, his dedication to the nation’s stability and development, and his unwavering determination to defend the country whenever it was threatened.
Prince Sultan praised the King's exemplary relation with the people, noting that his doors are always open and that it is his love for the people that defines this special bond.
He highlighted the remarkable transformation and development projects that the Kingdom is currently witnessing, and stressed that His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, speaks to today’s youth in their language, setting a course that ensures the country's progress, obvious to all.
The prince said that the country has always looked to the future with confidence and determination, a stand shared by King Abdulaziz and the previous kings of Saudi Arabia (may Allah rest their souls) whose long-term outlook has yielded the benefits that the Kingdom enjoys today.
The book was the initiative of Al-Turath Foundation; its publication was sponsored by Saudi Aramco. A skilled team made up of people from the two organizations worked to produce this book that documents the life of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques through photographs.
The book highlights the King’s life, the stages of his upbringing and youth, family life, the leadership roles he has held, contributions to the establishment of the modern state, global presence, significant social, humanitarian, cultural, heritage, and economic achievements, as well as his vision for the future.
It took more than a year to produce the book, a process that involved specialized institutions, experts, and professionals. It is published both in Arabic and in English, and there is an interactive digital edition as well.
The book features over 500 photographs, including one of the oldest photos, dating back to 1938. These images were selected from more than 10,000 photographs, following a methodology that ensures the accuracy of the documentation.
Visitors to Ithra Center can view the book for two weeks at the museum. It will also be displayed at the foundation's booth (No. E131) at the Riyadh International Book Fair from September 26 to October 5. An interactive website for the book will be launched soon at: www.kingsalmanbook.sa.
