Al-Zahrani confirms readiness to welcome visitors, Umrah performers in Ramadan

Makkah, March 12, 2024, Maher Al-Zahrani, the spokesperson for the General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque, has affirmed the authority's preparedness to welcome visitors and Umrah performers at the Grand Mosque in Makkah throughout the auspicious month of Ramadan 1445 Hijri.
Al-Zahrani highlighted the meticulous preparations in place, emphasizing that the Grand Mosque and its expansive courtyards have been adorned with over 25,000 new carpets. Moreover, there are 50 ablution facilities within the mosque, and its courtyards boast 3,000 toilets for the convenience of the worshippers. Additionally, 15,000 Zamzam water containers have been strategically placed around the mosque for easy access.
To maintain a high standard of hygiene, Al-Zahrani disclosed that a dedicated team of 4,000 workers diligently wash and disinfect the Grand Mosque ten times a day. This rigorous cleaning regimen aims to ensure a pristine and sanitary environment for both visitors and worshippers. Furthermore, a total of 3,000 liters of air fresheners are utilized to create a refreshing and pleasant atmosphere within the sacred precinct.
Al-Zahrani underscored the authority's commitment to enhancing visitors' experiences by organizing guided visits to exhibitions hosted within the mosque. Additionally, visitors are encouraged to explore the Library of the Grand Mosque, providing an enriching cultural and educational dimension to their visit.
