
Riyadh, March 08, 2025 – The Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Albudaiwi, reaffirmed the council’s unwavering support for the Syrian Arab Republic in its ongoing efforts to preserve the country’s stability and ensure the security of its citizens. In his statement, Albudaiwi underscored the GCC’s commitment to standing by Syria as it navigates the challenges facing its national unity and sovereignty.
Albudaiwi’s remarks echoed the position articulated in the final statement issued by the GCC Ministerial Council during its 163rd session, which strongly condemned all forms of violence aimed at destabilizing Syria. The council reiterated its firm stance against terrorism and criminal activities, stressing that these acts, irrespective of their motivations or justifications, must be opposed in all their forms. This commitment is part of the GCC's broader objective of supporting regional peace and security, while rejecting any attempts to undermine the stability of its member states and their neighbors.
Additionally, Albudaiwi expressed a hopeful vision for Syria’s future, calling for lasting peace, stability, and prosperity to prevail across the nation.
