Alibrahim stresses innovative solutions for global challenges like climate change, sustainability

Lisbon, October 03, 2023, Faisal F. Alibrahim, the Minister of Economy and Planning, emphasized the need for innovative solutions to address pressing global challenges, including climate change, sustainability, and post-pandemic economic recovery. He highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts between the public and private sectors in Saudi Arabia and Portugal in this regard.

Speaking at the Saudi-Portuguese Investment Forum, Alibrahim noted the substantial growth in bilateral trade, with Saudi exports to Portugal increasing by 50% and imports from Portugal rising by nearly 40% from 2021 to 2022. This surge resulted in a trade volume of $1 billion, highlighting the potential for increased cooperation between the two countries.

The Portuguese-Saudi Investment Forum, organized by the Ministry of Investment, is part of the broader framework of the sixth session of the Saudi-Portuguese Joint Committee. This forum serves as a platform to explore opportunities for investment and collaboration between Saudi Arabia and Portugal.
