AlUla, September 21, 2023, AlUla Governorate, which lies in the northwest of the Kingdom, has long been a dream destination for tourists from all over the world. The wise leadership's assistance made this desire a reality and assisted AlUla in becoming one of the most well-known and significant tourist destinations in the world. According to current statistics, this surge in tourism was truly extraordinary. By 2035, the Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) wants to double the number of tourists. To encourage tourism in this governorate, which still protects its antiquities and history stretching back thousands of years, hundreds of young people work in a variety of industries.
Due to its antiquities, cemeteries, sculptures, and rock formations, it is one of the largest living museums in the world and offers great archaeological sites and distinctive tourist attractions. It also includes the Dadan archaeological site, which helped establish and expand the Arabic language, and the ancient Nabataean city of Hegra, or Al-Hijr, which was listed as the first UNESCO World Heritage Site in the Kingdom.
The theme of this year's 93rd National Day, "We Dream, and We Achieve," was inspired by Saudi initiatives that were completed and transformed from dreams into realities, including AlUla projects made possible by the RCU's efforts to strengthen its position as a major tourist destination for archeological, cultural, and natural attractions around the world.
The "Journey Through Time" plan is one of the crucial steps in accomplishing AlUla's vision, and it is reflected in the "AlUla Vision," which His Royal Highness the Crown Prince earlier announced.
The Kingdom's Vision 2030 goals and the preservation of AlUla as a distinctive natural and cultural environment are two other objectives of this plan. When it is finished, it will increase the number of tourists, create a number of work possibilities for the neighborhood, and boost the GDP of the Kingdom.
