AlUla, March 26, 2025, The fragrance of history lingers in the narrow alleys of AlUla's Old Town, preserving the memories of ancestors who once lived within its mud-brick structures.

Local resident Mohammed Al-Imam fondly reminisces about the town’s past, describing the tightly-knit homes that fostered a spirit of unity and cooperation. "The old town was, and still is, the beating heart of AlUla," he says. "We were born and raised here, surrounded by palm groves and family gatherings."

Al-Imam recalls the vibrant markets bustling with vendors from different regions, offering traditional goods such as dates, perfumes, and AlUla’s distinctive handicrafts. He also cherishes memories of Ramadan evenings when children played in the streets and families gathered for iftar.

The Royal Commission for AlUla is actively working on revitalizing the Old Town, aiming to preserve its rich heritage while enhancing its appeal as a cultural and tourist destination. Restoration efforts include renovating historical buildings, upgrading pathways, and integrating modern amenities to welcome visitors from across the globe.
