AlUla, January 22, 2024, The organizing committee of the AlUla Tour 2024 for cycling has revealed the detailed itinerary of the race, covering a substantial distance of 811.2 kilometers. Scheduled to unfold from January 30 to February 3, the event presents a platform for elite cyclists to showcase their prowess. The route will traverse the historic AlUla region, renowned for its scenic landmarks such as the AlManshiya Train Station, Sharaan Nature Reserve, and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Hegra.
In its fourth edition, the AlUla Tour 2024 comprises five stages with distinct starting and finishing points:
Stage 1, on January 30, commencing and concluding at AlManshiya Train Station, spanning 149.1 kilometers.
Stage 2, on January 31, progressing from Winter Park to Sharaan Nature Reserve, covering 199.1 kilometers.
Stage 3, set for February 1, initiating at AlUla International Airport and concluding at the AlUla Camel Cup Track, encompassing 170.6 kilometers.
Stage 4, scheduled for February 2, guiding cyclists from Hegra to Maraya over a distance of 142.2 kilometers.
Stage 5, on February 3, beginning at AlUla Old Town and culminating at the Skyviews of Harrat Uwayrid, spanning 150.2 kilometers.
Featuring a roster of 18 world-class teams, the participants include nine Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) WorldTeams, such as Astana Qazaqstan, Bahrain Victorious, BORA-Hansgrohe, Cofidis, Movistar, Team Jayco AlUla, dsm-firmenich PostNL, Soudal Quick-Step, and UAE Team Emirates. Additionally, five UCI ProTeams will compete, namely Euskaltel-Euskadi, Q36.5, TotalEnergies, Tudor, and Uno-X Mobility, along with four other teams: the Saudi team, JCL Team Ukyo, Roojai Online Insurance, and Terengganu Polygon.
The AlUla Tour is a collaborative effort organized by the Ministry of Sports and the Royal Commission for AlUla, in partnership with the Saudi Cycling Federation and UCI. Aligned with the Quality of Life program, the event stands as one of the Kingdom's premier international sporting occasions.
