Next week, on November 29, 2023, Jeddah will make history as the first city outside of Spain to host America's Cup 37 (AC37). The prestigious sailing tournament will take place until December 2 at the Jeddah Yacht Club and Marina.
Competing teams from the UK, Italy, France, and the US will vie for the opportunity to challenge New Zealand, the defending champion and two-time consecutive winner. New Zealand aims to secure a third consecutive victory in Barcelona by August 2024, following the completion of the preliminary tournament in the Red Sea.
Hosted by the Ministry of Sports in collaboration with the Saudi Sailing Federation, this major water sports event aims to introduce sailing to young individuals and attract talented individuals who can represent the Kingdom in local, regional, and international competitions. The event also aims to enhance the quality of life by promoting sports participation, which has a profound impact on both mental and physical well-being.
The event itinerary is set to commence with local water activities organized by the Saudi Sailing Federation, taking place from 9 am to 11 am. Subsequently, the International Racing Village will open, allowing visitors to witness the official training race from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm.
