Andretti Global and General Motors interested in Formula One

Two American industry titans in the automotive and motorsport industries, Andretti Global and General Motors, have today declared their willingness to pursue the chance to compete in the FIA Formula One World Championship. Cadillac would serve as GM's official brand ambassador. With a support facility in the UK, the Andretti Cadillac team would have its headquarters in the US.

This brings together two storied American businesses with a rich history in motorsports and offers the chance to build on prior racing successes while extending the global reach of both brands. F1 has experienced constant development internationally, most notably in the United States, with events in Austin, Miami, and Las Vegas in 2023.

The extraordinary boom the company is currently experiencing demonstrates how well-liked the Cadillac brand is, particularly in the Middle East. Four F1 races have been announced for the near future in Bahrain, the KSA, Qatar, and the UAE. The area has been staging an increasing number of F1 races concurrently.

When the FIA starts the official procedure, the Andretti Cadillac team intends to file an expression of interest. If chosen, the team hopes to start competing with at least one American driver as soon as is practicable.

The Cadillac V-Series has a history of winning races in the Pirelli World Challenge and the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. With the Cadillac DPi-V.R., Cadillac has been a leader in IMSA competition since 2017, earning multiple victories, podium finishes, and championships. With the brand-new hybrid Cadillac V-LMDh, which will race internationally in the FIA World Endurance Championship and IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, Cadillac will continue to participate in sports car racing.

Andretti Global, the parent business of Andretti Autosport and other Andretti racing endeavors, is a multinational racing organization. Seven top-tier series throughout the world currently feature Andretti racing teams as competitors, and each site has had success.

In their last collaboration, Andretti and GM won nine races over the course of two seasons in 2012, when Chevrolet returned to the NTT INDYCAR Series. Additionally, the pair won the Driver, Team, and Manufacturer awards in 2012.

Chairman and CEO of Andretti Global, Michael Andretti

"We are constantly looking toward the future as we expand Andretti Global and its family of racing teams. I firmly believe that we are suited to join Formula One as a new team and that we can add value to the competition, our partners, and fan excitement. I'm honored that GM and Cadillac are working with us to achieve this objective. GM and Andretti have a shared history that began with a passion for racing. We now have the chance to bring our love of motorsport and commitment to innovation together to create a genuine American F1 bid.

Together, we shall keep up with the protocols and guidelines established by the FIA during the evaluation process. While waiting, we continue to enthusiastically get ready in case Andretti Cadillac is officially accepted as a Formula One contender.

General Motors President Mark Reuss:

"It is an honor for General Motors to partner with Andretti Global on this historic occasion in racing. We have a long and illustrious history in motorsports and engineering innovation, so the potential of collaborating with Andretti Global to create an American F1 team that will help increase interest in the series and the sport around the world excites us greatly.
