Cairo, February 15, 2024, At the behest of Palestine, the Arab League Council convened an extraordinary session at the level of permanent delegates at the Arab League Secretariat General. Chaired by the Kingdom of Morocco, the session was graced by the presence of Arab League Assistant Secretary-General Ahmed Hossam Zaki. Its primary agenda was to address Arab and international efforts aimed at halting the ongoing genocide perpetrated against the Palestinian populace.
Among the attendees was Dr. Saleh bin Abdullah Al-Moqbel, the Kingdom's permanent representative to the Arab League, emphasizing the significance of the meeting.
The convening of the session coincided with the grave humanitarian situation unfolding in Palestine, particularly in Rafah city and its densely populated camps, which are currently bearing the brunt of Israeli occupation forces' aggression. These areas, already home to over 1.5 million displaced Palestinians, have become focal points of intensified violence and oppression.
