Cairo, August 28, 2023, The 112th ministerial-level meeting of the Arab Economic and Social Council will take place on Thursday at the headquarters of the Arab League in Cairo, and preparations for it have already begun. Naif Al-Enzi, assistant deputy minister for international cooperation at the ministry of finance, is the leader of the delegation representing the Kingdom at the conference. The committee will discuss the topics on the draft agenda of the session, including the issue of follow-up on the implementation of the council's resolutions decided in its previous session, the Arab League's intersessional activity, and the economic and social profile of the league's economic council, at A. The committee is chaired by Yemen and will be joined by Assistant Secretary-General for Economic Affairs at the League of Arab States, Ambassador Ali Al-Malki. The Greater Arab Free Trade Area, recent advances in the Arab Customs Union, and preparations for the fifth session of the Arab Economic and Social Development Summit, which will take place in Nouakchott, the capital of Mauritania, in November of next year, will also be covered by the committee. The topics of aiding the Palestinian economy, the Arab Food Security Report 2021, the draft statutes of the Arab-African Fund for disaster risk reduction, aiding the fight to save the Sudanese agricultural season, and other matters pertaining to institutions and organizations for joint Arab action will also be covered.
