Cairo, February 21, 2024, Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, has denounced the use of the veto to thwart a draft resolution submitted by Algeria on behalf of the Arab League. The resolution called for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. Aboul Gheit expressed that the thwarting of the resolution discredits the credibility of the UN and highlights its incompetence in providing a solution to the current situation in the Gaza Strip.
