Cairo, September 25, 2023, The Arab Observatory for Human Rights has strongly denounced the desecration of copies of the Holy Quran by members of an extremist group outside various embassies in The Hague. The organization has issued a statement, urging the international community to take immediate action to quell actions that provoke the sensitivities of millions of Muslims worldwide and run counter to global efforts to promote tolerance, moderation, and acceptance of diversity.
In its statement, the observatory unequivocally stated that such extremist acts are unacceptable and cannot be justified in the name of freedom of expression. It further emphasized the necessity of a resolute response to such actions, and underscored the importance of holding accountable the governments of countries that permit actions fostering violence and extremism.
