Cairo, September 18, 2023, Adel bin Abdurrahman Al-Assoumi, the speaker of the Arab Parliament, has praised the efforts made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Oman to end the war in Yemen and achieve a just and comprehensive peace, highlighting the fact that these initiatives are a continuation of earlier Gulf initiatives that paved the way for restoring stability and ensuring decent living conditions for the Yemeni people. Al-Assoumi expressed hope in a statement on Sunday that these measures will assist Yemenis in putting an end to the long-running war, help lay the groundwork for a state of institutions, and make it easier to provide humanitarian aid to Yemenis. Al-Assoumi also stated that since the crisis' inception, the Kingdom has made significant efforts to find a comprehensive political solution to the Yemeni crisis, put an end to inter-Yemeni violence, and secure peace and stability in the nation.
He also praised the efforts made by Omani diplomacy to converge the viewpoints of all conflicting parties.
