Adel bin Abdulrahman Al-Asoumi praised Saudi Arabia for its efforts to protect and advance human rights.

Holding the post of Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Arab Observatory for Human Rights, besides being Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Adel bin Abdulrahman Al-Asoumi said that several of the Arab countries, like Saudi Arabia, have acted in two ways, which are important to preserve and advance their values of human being culture. In the course of the second session of the Arab Parliament, which took place today in Cairo, Al-Asoumi made this statement during the inaugural meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Arab Observatory for Human Rights. He expressed his admiration for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's pioneering and accelerated efforts to advance human rights and the remarkable progress it has achieved as part of its Vision 2030. This vision, together with significant achievements on the ground in terms of the empowerment of women, has been translated into various concrete projects and legislation. He added that the world's trust in this promising approach was evident in the unanimous selection of the Kingdom's delegate to chair the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women.
The Speaker of the Arab Parliament emphasized that the Arab Observatory for Human Rights will persistently support the expansion of the Arab human rights system, foster a human rights culture, and enhance enforcement measures through the application of objective techniques and standards.
