Dhahran, January 30, 2024, Aramco issued a press release today, stating that it has received directives from the Ministry of Energy to maintain its maximum sustainable capacity (MSC) at 12 million barrels per day (MMBD) and not to proceed with increasing it to 13 MMBD. The MSC is determined by the state under the Hydrocarbons Law, which was enacted by Royal Decree M/37 on December 20, 2017.
As a result of these directives, Aramco will provide updates to its capital spending guidance when it announces its full-year 2023 results in March. This decision aligns with the strategic decisions made by the Ministry of Energy and underscores the importance of adherence to regulatory frameworks in the hydrocarbons sector.
